Dear members of The Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS) and participants of the KICS Summer Conference,
The year 2024 is already halfway through. The Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS) has grown into a leading society in the academic/industrial field of ICT and is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of KICS. We are grateful to the efforts of all KICS members. This year, the KICS Summer Conference, which is the representative academic event of KICS, will be held at the Ramada Plaza Jeju Hotel in Jeju City from June 19th to 22nd with a record number of more than 1,000 paper presentations and academic programs on a variety of ICT topics.
This KICS Summer Conference is organized with various interesting programs. Starting from an invited talk by the president of IITP Jin-Bae Hong and a Haedong special lecture by Professor Moe Z. Win from MIT, the conference features many distinguished speakers including Prof. Xaq Pitkow from Carnegie Mellon University, Prof. Sasu Tarkoma from University of Helsinki, and Prof. Ahmed Alkhateeb from Arizona State University. In addition, there will be also interesting tutorials, industry/entrepreneurship special sessions to explore the latest trends in the ICT industry, various special sessions with government agencies (TTA, ETRI, and NIA), KT, Samsung Science & Technology Foundation, 6G Forum, ITRC, and research societies, and several sessions for young researchers. In particular, like last year, we will hold an industry-academia-government exchange meeting where industry, academia, and government come together to discuss and communicate about the latest ICT research and innovative technologies, and we hope that you will be interested in participating.
With these diverse and unique programs, we expect this summer conference to be a place where professors, students, companies, research institutes, and government officials involved in the ICT field can participate, discuss, and collaborate together. Finally, we would like to thank the organizing committee and secretariat staffs for their hard work, and wish everyone good health and luck.
Thank you.
